I wouldn't say most Chelsea fans (well, on the internet anyway) see a quality player, many complain about him and lots around do indeed say "Just sell him" etc.

I love Joe Cole and know we should keep him, Chelsea and England need him. It is a huge pay-rise but the club shot themselves in the foot for having such an expensive wage structure in the first place. They should bite their teeth and give him what he wants, the big question on their mind is will he be as good as he can be this season? or the next season or season after that....I hope he can but at the moment he's put in lacklustre performances aside from the last couple of games.

We ultimately need him though, he's one of the few English players with flair really and loves Chelsea. I wanted him to miss 2 games back in dec / jan and put in some hard training to reflect on his abilities of today compared to 2 seasons ago.
